Archery Update

Just a reminder that the transition phase for the new Archery rules ends on 31st December 2015. After this date all members leading Archery as a Scout Activity will need an Adventurous Activity Permit for Archery.

POR rules governing Adventurous Activities can be found at

The latest version of the Archery Factsheet can be found at

It may be helpful to ensure that Leaders requiring an Archery permit look at the Applicants Guide to the Permit Scheme, available at

In case Commissioners need to be reminded of the scheme, please view the Permit Scheme – Commissioners Guide at

Attached please find the Assessment Checklist for Archery, AC120953. I suggest that this is given to all Leaders who wish to apply for a permit, as it shows the areas that the Leader will need to demonstrate competence in to the Assessor.

Also attached the application form for an Adventurous Activity Permit, which should be completed by the Leader, to include any NGB (National Governing Body) award and recent logged experience of running Archery Activities. The holding of the relevent NGB qualification and demonstrable experience will negate the need for a practical assessment, but a recommendation from an assessor is required before Commissioners are able to grant a permit.

Applications for Archery Permits should be submitted to

General Archery Enquiries should be submitted to
