42 new members invested in one night

Shoreham Beach Primary School, the venue for the new Shoreham Beach Beavers and Cubs, was buzzing last night as 42 new members made their promise and were welcomed to the world wide family of Scouting.

After a packed first term of activities, learning about Scouting and designing their own Group scarf, the Beavers and Cubs were very excited about finally making their promise and becoming ‘real’ Scouts, as one Cub put it.

With the school hall packed out with parents, siblings and invited guests from the District and County Team. Robert Sawyer, District Commissioner first invested Jon Elliott, Group Scout Leader, who in turn invested the new leaders, who went on to invested the 19 Beavers and 17 Cubs.

There were smiles all round as proud parents watched their children say the promise and be presented with a certificate, badge book and membership badges.

The only item missing, was the Group’s new scarf, which had been delayed at the manufactures. Something to look forward to the first week back next term!
