It is with great pleasure I can announce the appointment of a new District Commissioner for Bognor Regis District from the 3rd May 2017.
I am pleased to announce that following the search for a new DC, Jake Shoebridge has been appointed as the Bognor Regis District Commissioner and is looking forward to the exciting challenge ahead.
Jake has been involved in Scouting since he was a Cub and progressed through all of the sections. Aged 18, he was appointed Cub Leader whilst at the same time, helping out with Beavers and Scouts. Jake is currently the Assistant District Commissioner for Scouts in Bognor Regis District.
Having successfully lead Aldwick and Pagham Sea Scouts for over 5 years, he will leave the section with many happy memories and in the capable hands of a fantastic leadership team and their programme.
In his spare time away from scouting, Jake enjoys his job as a manager at Homebase where he has worked for 9 years since leaving school. His better half Eleanor is very supportive of his passion for Scouting. They met at WS2013 and look forward to spending their 4 year anniversary together at WS2017 this August, Jake clearly knows how to treat a women!
Jake is passionate about building on the legacy that he has been left by the previous DC Ally Dodd by working hard to further develop scouting in Bognor. A massive thanks must go to Ally for the past 5 years. He would also like to welcome Vicki Goodland to his District Team who he has appointed as Deputy District Commissioner.
Jake is excited and honoured to have been appointed District Commissioner for Bognor Regis District and can’t wait to get started.
I hope everyone will support Jake in his new role, and I look forward to seeing the District continue to develop and grow.
Yours in Scouting
