Two New Beaver Colonies Launched

This month (January 2019) we welcomed two new Beaver Scout Colonies to the County.

The new colonies are based at;

1st Wisborough Green (Petworth and Pulborough District) – there had been no Beaver Colony at the Group since 2014.

2nd Worthing (Worthing District) – this is the group’s second beaver colony, established to help meet the high demand for Beavers places across the District.

Both Colonies were opened following a series of open nights and taster sessions giving young people and adults the opportunity to give Scouting a go before committing to joining. Both new sections are the result of parents volunteering to lead the new sections.

During the week of 14th January, both colonies celebrated this key milestone by holding a ‘Promise Party’ during which the new Beavers all made their promise. Like all good parties there was cake and juice and lots of games.
