World Scout Jamboree 2019

World Scout Jamborees are unique events where Scouts from all corners of the globe gather together to share in an adventure.
World Scout Jamborees are places where you will live side by side with people from all nations, living in peace and harmony, creating a tented town of 50 000 Scouts.
As part of a team of 4 leaders, you will guide 36 young people as they learn to live & laugh together, thriving in a different culture, living away from home for up to 3 weeks.
West Sussex Scouts are looking for 8 leaders to take 72 young people on the trip of a lifetime to the 24th World Scout Jamboree, USA. Dates to include 22nd July to 2nd August 2019 with some time either side for pre and post Jamboree events.

WS2017 Update March 2017

The planning of WS is well underway and this is a quick update.

We currently have 248 Adult Volunteers registered, but we could do with some more for various roles but especially on the Activities Team. You do not need to work with the Guide or Scout Sections, but be over the age of 18 years and have or be able to obtain a DBS with either the Guide or Scout Association. If you are interested please contact Amanda Teasel on bookings@ws2017.org.uk .

Charity nominations are being sought for the Camp and nomination forms can be found on the front page of the WS website. The closing date is 31st March 2017.

All Sections Visitors Day will be on Wednesday 9th August 2017, for all Rainbow, Beaver, Brownie and Cub Units and any Guide or Scout Units unable to Camp and would like to come and visit us for the day. Information will be circulated at the beginning of April.

The 2nd payments are flooding in and Units are being notified of which Sub Camp they will be on.

The free t-shirt form, photos for the ID cards and Registers are also being sent out and asked for, please note the deadline dates on these and make sure that you reply by these dates at the latest.

Numbers of participants are extremely high and this may be the first WS when bookings may have to close. Please don’t be disappointed and let Rosie Cornish have payments and realistic numbers.    Rosie can be contacted on bookings@ws2017.org.uk .

To date there are 25 Countries registered to join us at WS. If you need help with a link or have an International Group that wish to register, please contact Janet Samuel on international@ws2017.org.uk .

This is an exciting year when hopefully all the plans made by the WS Core Team will fall into place. We look forward to seeing many of you at Camp
