Annual International Events & Activities
JOTA & JOTI
The Jamborees on The Air (JOTA) and on the Internet (JOTI) both happen during the third weekend in October annually. They are aimed at getting scouts of all ages communicating either using radio or the internet with scouts from around the world.

WOSM information about JOTA & JOTI
The Jamboree On The Trail is an annual event where scouts from around the world all go out hiking during the same weekend. JOTT is held on the second Saturday of May each year.
International Scout Active Support Units
If you are planning a trip abroad or want to run a themed evening, you may wish to consult one of the International Scout Active Support units who work in specific areas of the world. Some of these also run trips out to the areas which they support, the trips can include Jamborees and Explorer Belt Expeditions.
UK Arab Region Active Support Unit – supports UK scouts going out to the Arab Region
SEENet – supports scouting in the UK and South East Europe (mainly former Yugoslavia)
Network Russia – supports scouting in the UK and Russia
International Oppurtunities available in UK & Abroad
The Scout Association publish and circulate International Opportunities each month which contains a full list of all the possible events you could encourage your young people to take part in during the forthcoming year or two.

In addition to the opportunities published by The Scout Association, you may wish to consider running your own trip using one of the recommended agents.
Venture Abroad – this tour operator organise tailor made Scout ‘holidays’ which you may wish to consider.
JEKA – this operator also organises ‘holidays’ in a similar way to Venture Abroad
Acorn Travel – adventure holidays for youth groups
PGL – adventure trips for uniformed organisations in the UK and abroad.
You may wish to book direct with an International Scout Centre yourselves to save the cost of using a middle man, if so here are a few ideas of where you could go to around the world.
Kaira Konko, The Gambia – a scout centre which has been supported by Hampshire Scouts for a number of years, if you’d like more information on this centre, contact the West Sussex international team and we can direct you to a leader who has run a number of trips to the centre.
Kanderstag World Scout Centre, Switzerland – owned by WOSM, this is one of three World Scout Centres, this is a popular destination for UK groups who wish to experience an international campsite. The UK also has information about the centre which you may find useful.
