Essential Information (Module 1) in Crawley

Especially for Crawley Scouters, Essential Information is a mandatory module for nearly all adults in Scouting and must be undertaken and completed within 5 months of taking up a role. It provides the basic information required for individuals getting started in Scouting leadership, vital to ensuring that all young people can enjoy safe Scouting. Topics covered:
- The Fundamentals of Scouting
- Structure and support
- Safety in Scouting
- Safeguarding- child protection
- Safeguarding- anti-bullying
Please note: there is a different, more appropriate, course available for Trustees and Active Support if you are not directly involved working with young people on a regular basis.
Dress code for this course: non-uniform, warm, comfortable clothing.
Please tell your Local Training Manager or Training Adviser or Group Scout Leader of your plan to attend as this system does not advise them. No preparation required although registering to use Compass via http://www.scouts.org.uk would be an advantage.
